Camel Surfing at the Great Pyramids in Egypt

Okay. So standing on top of an unpredictable camel’s back is probably not the safest way to ride a camel, but it does make for a priceless photo opportunity!

To be honest, this unusual photo wasn’t our idea (we’re assuming there are thousands of similar “original photos” out there). We didn’t believe it when our camel guide asked Nicole to stand on the camel’s back. We actually thought it was one of those “lost in translation” moments.

It wasn’t – he was serious!

It remains as one of our favourite photos from our day exploring the incredible wonder of the world. We were thankful that our camel guide showed us the best spots for taking photos, strategically eliminating the crowds and unattractive urban sprawl that surrounds the Great Pyramids of Giza.

It was well worth the extra couple dollars.
