Rocky Desert Valley in Wadi Rum, Jordan
Wadi Rum, also known as the Valley of the Moon, is a massive desert valley located between the Red Sea and Petra, Jordan’s most valuable treasure and greatest tourist attraction.
A highlight from our trip to Jordan was the 4×4 jeep safari through Wadi Rum’s rocky, isolated desert terrain. After enjoying afternoon tea in the middle of no where, we hiked to the top of this giant sand dune to check out the spectacular panorama. The jagged rock formations shoot out of the ground, creating a landscape that resembles the desert valley’s of Arizona and Nevada.
What we liked most about Wadi Rum was that although it’s a popular tourist attraction, it’s still virtually untouched by humans. Aside from the occasional jeep or camel convoy, we felt like we had the entire place to ourselves.
The two white jeeps adds scale and really puts things into perspective!
