We’re Going to Maui, Hawaii!
A few weeks ago, we revealed our exciting summer adventures. Well, summer is finally here, which means we’re leaving on a jet plane in search of adventure. Next stop – Hawaiian tropical island paradise!
We are joining a group of travel bloggers on a social media press trip that’s hosted by the Maui Visitors & Convention Bureau. This will be our first trip to the Hawaiian Islands (I know, hard to believe!), so we’re very excited to experience a completely new destination for the first time.
When we think of Hawaii, images of white sandy beaches, palm trees, sunshine, surfing, Polynesian dancing and luaus come to mind. We’ve heard countless stories about Hawaii’s beautiful lush landscapes, laid back attitude and endless options for outdoor adventure.
Many of our friends and family have visited multiple Hawaiian islands and all have said that Maui is their favourite island, so we’re excited to find out what makes this Pacific island so special.
Our itinerary is going to be jam packed, filled with both adventure and family friendly activities (and a romantic private dinner on the beach for Cameron’s birthday – perfect timing!).
Some of the highlights include a traditional Hawaiian Sailing Canoe, biking down a volcano with Maui Easy Riders, sea kayaking, zip-lining through lush forests with Skyline Eco-Adventures, testing out underwater “snuba” for the first time, and taking a heli-tour around the island with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters.
Of course, Baby B will not be participating in the more adventurous activities. Instead, Nicole and Baby B will be visiting the Maui Ocean Centre, shopping in the local markets, exploring the island in a rental car, watching the Cliff Dive Ceremony at the Sheraton and spending some well deserved downtime by the pool (Baby B loves the water so this will surely be his highlight!).
We are spending 3 nights at the spectacular Wailea Beach Villas, hosted by Destination Resorts Hawaii, and 2 nights on Kaanapali Beach at the luxurious Sheraton Maui.
The weather forecast looks to be clear, hot and sunny – just what we expect when we think of Hawaii!

Have you visited Maui? Is there a restaurant or place we must visit while we are there?

As I am heading to Maui in August, I will be eagerly anticipating your blog posts on it. Hope to use your suggestions as a guide!
Great – we’ve got lots of posts to share over the coming weeks!
Exciting! And it’s great that you can take Baby B and explore some of the family friendly activities too.
Indeed – he had a great time rolling around in the sun!
Ahhh Maui is the best! Have a blast! We head to Oahu in September and can’t wait.
Thanks Hilarye! It was a fun (but short) trip.
Have fun in Oahu!
Have a great time – you will love Maui!!
Cheers! 🙂
It’s been years since I’ve been to Maui but I do like the island. North side is a bit quieter than the south but love the area from Lahaina to Kapalua. Have a great time! Still have Kauai as my favorite but Maui’s not bad 🙂
This was our first trip to Hawai’i, so we don’t know much about the other islands. It was fun. We spent 3 days on the south side and 3 days on the north side, so we had a good mix.
We’ve got lots of stories/photos to share over the coming weeks…
