Photo of the Week: Lovely Little Liechtenstein
At a mere 160 square kilometers, Liechtenstein is one of the world’s smallest countries and the only country in Europe that lies entirely within the Alps, making it a popular destination for hikers, mountain bikers, skiers and lovers of the great outdoors.
It’s not exactly a tourist hot spot and it rarely appears on the European backpacking circuit, but we felt that it was worthy of a day trip while visiting neighbouring Switzerland.
Liechtenstein is a cute and unassuming little country that boasts breathtaking mountain vistas, lush green valleys and small alpine villages. We captured this white stone castle while on the bus from Vaduz, Liechtenstein to Sargans, Switzerland.

Liechtenstein was the huge disappointment for me but maybe because I was there in late October. It looks much better on your picture 🙂
