Inside Frankfurt am Main Airport Long-distance Station
Not to be confused with Frankfurt’s Central Train Station, one of Europe’s largest and busiest train stations, the Frankfurt am Main Airport station is conveniently connected to Frankfurt’s International Airport, serving long distance trains throughout Germany.
We decided to redeem our Aeroplan miles to stay at the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel so that we could deal with Baby B’s jetlag. There’s not much to do in the area, so we found ourselves wandering around the train station, admiring it’s futuristic architecture and snapping a few photos.
I like the way this photo turned out – the colours and reflective light gives the photo some unexpected sizzle.

Love the photo. Well done.
My best train station hangout experience: Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, India, formerly Victoria Station, in Mumbai.
Just think back to the train scenes in ‘Slum Dog Millionaire” and magnify the colours, sounds, smells and otherwordliness feel ten times, and you’ve got it.
I spent four hours there and felt light-headed when I finally found my way back outside. (A pick-pocket haven, but as long as you watch yourself – a must-visit.)
I also love the architecture of the train station central in Milan.
The worst: Toronto’s Union Station. Good grief Charlie Brown.
Thanks for great post.
