Steep Vineyards in the Mosel River Valley, Germany
One of our favourite spots in Europe is the Mosel River Valley, located in western Germany near France and Luxembourg. The region is famous for its steep vineyards, fairytale castles and cute medieval villages. It’s pretty easy to fall in love with this part of Europe!
This photo was captured while hiking through the steep vineyards on a crisp September morning. We like how the bright red train gives the large colourful vineyards a sense of scale, and it gives a splash of contrast against the calm river and morning shadows – it was fortunate timing because the train only passes by once an hour.
