The cold temperatures literally smacked us in the face last night as we stepped off the aircraft and entered Vancouver International Airport. Just a few (albeit long) hours earlier, we were sporting flip flops, shorts and t-shirts while enjoying an outdoor lunch by the pool. Now we find ourselves bundled up in jeans, hoodies, jackets and shoes.
As we left the airport, we could see our breathe in the frosty night, a clear sign that it’s time to face our Canadian winter reality.
We still haven’t come to terms with the fact that our time in hot, sunny Mexico has come to an end. So, like most sane people, rather than deal with the issue we’ve decided to crank up the heat and gas fireplace at home and pretend that we’re still on the beach with a colourful fruity cocktail in hand. Sadly, it’s not working.
In an effort to help us deal with the loss of our tropical surroundings, we’ve decided to share a few photos from our trip.
This photo isn’t helping us deal with our cold Canadian winter reality…

When in Mexico…Tequila!
This big iquana liked to hang out beside our room. He scared the crap out of us most of the time!
