Market Square in Bernkastel-Kues, Germany
Germany’s Mosel Valley is filled with picturesque villages that line its windy riverbanks (it’s our favourite part of Germany). Many of the cute villages and towns have a similar look and feel, but Bernkastel-Kues takes the title for most attractive.
The Market Square, pictured above, is the star attraction. Many of the colourful, well preserved half-timbered houses date back to the 1600’s. We could feel the town’s history as we explored its tight cobblestone alleyways and courtyards.
It’s the perfect place in the Mosel Valley to sit back and enjoy a freshly brewed espresso and pastry.
