Winter Photos from Big White Ski Resort
We lucked out with back-to-back-to-back bluebird sunny days during our time at Big White Ski Resort, located in the heart of British Columbia’s beautiful Okanagan Valley. Well, I guess the term “lucked out” is highly subjective. It was super warm and sunny on the mountain, which is great for spring skiing conditions and capturing pretty photos, but it came at the expense of fresh powder runs.
The travel blogger in me was happy to catch some sunshine so I could snap some photos with proper lighting, while the snowboarder in me was a little bummed that we didn’t get a snow day on the slopes. Regardless, fun times were had. That’s what I love about snowboarding – you always win!
These photos were captured using my brand spanking new GoPro Hero 3+ camera. It took me some time to get comfortable with the camera settings but once I figured out the time lapse feature I was happy with how simple it is to shoot photos while snowboarding. I set the timer to take a photo every 2 seconds and voila, over 2,600 photos captured over 2 days. I also captured some video footage while snowboarding – check out the footage here.
Below are a few of my favourite images from our trip to Big White.
