Grand Canal in Venice, Italy
This week’s familiar travel photo was captured while crossing a bridge over the famous Grand Canal in Venice, Italy. Prior to visiting Venice for the first time, I had no idea the city is actually a group of 118 small islands separated by canals and linked by bridges.
Venice is one of the most attractive and seductive cities in the world. As a visitor, you will inevitably get lost while wandering it’s tight alleyways and romantic cobblestone streets. The city, which is often referred as a living museum, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, largely because of it’s diverse architecture and unique artistic achievements.

I really do want to get to Venice at some point. Always been distracted by other parts of the country that I’d not made it there as yet.
