Sunrise from the Summit of Mount Sinai, Egypt
This week’s travel photo was captured at sunrise after we hiked throughout the night to reach the summit of Mount Sinai, an iconic biblical destination in Egypt that is said to be the place where Moses received the Ten Commandments from God.
As the sun began to rise over the desert, it revealed an endless range of jagged sandstone mountains. We began the hike in the thick of darkness, so we had no idea what our surroundings looked like. The bright morning sun painted the desert mountains with hues of pink, purple and orange. It was pure magic.
To this day, that moment on the peak of Mount Sinai remains as one of our most memorable sunrises.
