Disclosure: I’m a FIG Ambassador for FIG Clothing, a women’s travel clothing company. Today, I’m sharing why FIG clothing has become a staple in my wardrobe.
FIG Clothing Review
I was introduced to FIG Clothing about a year ago. I happened to see an online ad that caught my attention. The clothing is exactly what I look for when we travel: stylish yet comfortable.
I clicked on the ad because I saw a sweater I really liked. I’m picky with sweaters. I like sweaters that are longer (like a tunic) and with a hood or a neck with buttons, ideally with a unique look.
While on the website, I noticed the brand was looking for FIG ambassadors. We’ve worked with outdoor clothing brands before, for winter ski gear, but this would be my first time working with a clothing brand that focuses on everyday travel wear.
I’ve struggled to find quality travel clothing, so I applied to be a brand ambassador for FIG Clothing. Ironically, when I was applying, someone from FIG reached out to see if I’d be interested in their program. We were literally looking at each other at the exact same time – it was oddly serendipitous!
As you can guess from the title of this post, I’ve partnered with FIG as a #FIGAmbassador.
Putting my new FIG clothing to the test
My new clothes arrived just in time for a conference in Kananaskis, Alberta. I chose items from FIG’s Chalet line. Shipping took about a week. I ordered three sweaters, pants and a shirt. I wanted professional, stylish clothing for the conference, but also comfortable, since I spent most of the days sitting.
I should have known better. When I booked this conference, I didn’t think about the possibility of facing a major snowstorm. Even in early October, the weather in Alberta can be very unpredictable.
I began my trip with multiple cancelled flights and hours of delays at the airport. Oh, the joy of winter travel in Canada! Although my travel days were long and frustrating, I was happy with my new FIG clothing.
A little bit about FIG Clothing
Sorry guys, at this time, FIG only offers women’s clothing. Most of FIG’s products are made in Canada, specifically Quebec and Ontario. When certain items are not made in Canada, FIG only works with manufacturers who shares its values and standards of quality (read FIG’s values here).
I now own several FIG Clothing items (I purchased more after my first order). I’ve been wearing these items often and I’m really happy with the quality. I’ve put them in the washer a number of times over the past few months and they still look great. I hang dry these clothes as much as possible.
FIG currently offers five lines of clothing: CHALET, VOYAGE, METRO, SAFARI, and OCEAN. Most of my current items are from the VOYAGE and CHALET collections because I ordered during winter, so I wanted warmer clothing. Each collection has a different theme, style, and set of fabrics, so you can choose the right clothing for your travels.
FIG Clothing is available online
I don’t like purchasing new clothes online. I often find sizing to be way off. But I do like that FIG Clothing provides a fit type (e.g., easy fit, modern fit, and slim fit), which I found helpful in determining how the clothes will fit my body. I followed the sizing chart and fit style, and the clothes I ordered are true to size..
My Favourite FIG Clothing items
I really like my clothes from FIG. Below are a few items that are my favourites.
I love the OPA pant (I’m wearing them in the above photo). I wear these pants often. I wear them to work, the soccer field and on the plane. They are comfy, stylish and easy.
My CET sweater has become my weekend sweater for me this winter. It’s fuzzy on the inside, and it’s unlike any other sweater I have. It also doesn’t ride up – it stays in place on my hips and thighs.
I LOVE my KLU Cartigan (pictured above). It’s sold out online, but keep an eye out for it in case they bring it back in 2019. I will definitely purchase it again in a different colour, assuming FIG brings it back.
