Photos from our trip to Sayulita, Mexico
We’ve just returned from Sayulita, a chilled out beach town located in the Riviera Nayarit on Mexico’s west coast. It was a fun few weeks but we’re happy to be back in British Columbia now – too much of a good thing can be dangerous.
Surprisingly, I didn’t take nearly as many photos as I usually do. To be honest, it was just too damn hot to pull out the camera. But I did manage to snap a few shots of the beach, town and sunsets (wow – does Sayulita look pretty at pink hour!).
Here are a few of our photos of Sayulita…

Looks like a beautiful and chilled out little beach town. Mexico definitely does that well! My favourite was San Agustinillo near Zipolite on the Southern Pacific Coast. Absolutely stunning and so relaxed with hardly any other tourists.

Never heard of it. We’ll have to look it up since really love Mexico and are always looking for great places to explore.

The colours in the sunset photos are absolutely stunning. The second one a little farther down is by far my favorite.
Did you have to have your camera on a specific setting to do this? I am going to be at Cafe Del Mar in Ibiza for the sunsets in a few weeks and am curious on how to take such surreal and vibrant pics.
Traveling Canucks says
Actually, most of those pics were taken with my iPhone 4! A few were taken with my DSLR but it’s a basic kit (Canon T2i). That was mostly the sunset showing off!

for an less experienced traveler on a low budget is this a recommended travel destination? if not where is, for a warm/hot holiday?
Traveling Canucks says
Sure, Sayulita is safe, accessible and caters to tourists. Another spot is San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Belize.

Great photos! I a single 64 yrs old male. Plan to retire this yr. I have visited many places in Mexico. I returned last week from Puerta Vallarta and spent 2 days in Sayulita. Love it! Realitor showed my some properties and found a couple i liked. I would prefer to rent something inexpensive for 6months to a yr. starting Nov 2015 but seems impossible to find anything. I only want a studio and pay around 500 a month. I would welcome your thoughts.
Thanks
