Photos from our Alberta road trip
Today I’m going to try something new. Instagram, my favourite social app, has a feature that allows you to embed your photos directly into a blog post. I’ve seen this done before on a few other blogs that I follow, so I thought I’d give it a try today.
Let me know what you think – do you like this style or prefer original photos uploaded directly to the blog post?
Embedding photos via Instagram is actually super easy and fast. Just a little copying and pasting and the photos are ready to go; no cropping, re-sizing or uploading required. That said, if you’re reading this blog post via email, I’m pretty sure the images won’t show up. If this is happening to you right now, head over the blog post to see the images.
Also, rather than regurgitating the captions for each photo, you can view the caption and comments of each photo by hovering over the top right of the photo, where it says Instagram, and click the “View on Instagram“ button.
To learn about our specific itinerary, read our post “To the Rockies we go! Join us as we #ExploreAlberta.”
Have you visited any of these places in Alberta? What did you think?
If not, what are you waiting for?!
I love mountains and oddly enough, I haven’t been to Canada yet.
Definitely high on my wish list, especially Alberta and Vancouver Island.
Thanks for making me dream 🙂
You definitely need to visit western Canada Simon! We think you’ll love it over here 🙂
Those are some amazing pics! I love Instagram for this type of thing. I guess for me, I post all of the pics I take with my phone to Instagram, and then post the pics with my DSLR to the blog. But sometimes I’ll only have my phone on me, so that’s where posting from Instagram to the blog is really handy! Your pics are so beautiful so I’m glad I got to experience all of your instagram pics here!
Thanks for your feedback Lauren. Like you, we also prefer to post phone pics on Instagram and high res photos on the blog. But lately we’ve been relying more on the phone pics for convenience. Bad habit, but I’m amazed at how great the photo editing apps are on my phone. And being able to copy and paste code is soooo much easier… glad you like the photos! It was a fun trip
I live in Alberta, so I’ve been to most of these places (although I’ve never done the Brewster Columbia Icefield tour). Love all the photos, but my favourite might the one of your son looking out the train window – it seems to capture the magic and wonder of travel.
Alberta is such a fun place to visit. Loved your comment about Braydon – it really does capture the wonder of travel, doesn’t it? Where are living in Alberta?
That raspberry ale looks delicious – I really miss Canadian craft beer! What lake is it that everyone is swimming in? Can’t say I have seen anyone swimming in a lake in the Rockie’s before considering how cold they are!
That was a polar dip in Lake Louise on Canada Day. It looked really cold!
Such stunning scenery! I’m planning a trip to the Canadian rockies/Alberta national parks in September and I can’t wait to see these views for myself!
You’re going to love it! Where will you be visiting?
Where in Jasper were all those people swimming – Lake Annette?
That was at Lake Louise
simply stunning! Im getting more and more motivated for a trip to Canada
Great photos! I have been to Alberta but havn’t travelled around too much… next time!
I absolutely love Alberta. Lauren and I spent the whole winter there last year. it’s funny to look at your pictures and see the same locations without any snow.
I really like it, travelling from Alberta road trip in full day, so fulfill enjoying it…..Thanks
