Why you should visit Portugal’s River of Gold
The Douro River in northern Portugal is one of the major rivers of the Iberian Peninsula, flowing from north-central Spain to its final outlet, the historical seaside city of Porto.
The Douro Valley, home to thousands of terraced vineyards, is one of the oldest demarcated wine regions in the world. This region is where Portugal’s famous port wine has been produced and aged for hundreds of years. It’s also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
After visiting this region a few months ago, we are convinced it should be on your travel short-list. We put together this short video highlighting the reasons we believe you should travel to Portugal and experience its magnificent River of Gold.
Watch the video below to see why you should travel here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our river cruise experience. It exceeded our expectations. I believe everyone should experience the luxury and simplicity of a European river cruise, at least once in their life.
